Micropos Medical AB announced that the company has received an order through its U.S. subsidiary, Micropos Medical Inc., to deliver a Raypilot® system to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, USA.
The order is valued at approximately 1.6 million SEK and includes a system along with consumables. Installation and training will begin during the current quarter.
Dr. David Marshall, Chief Physician and experienced radiation oncologist at MUSC, states:
“Raypilot will enhance the care for our prostate cancer patients treated with SBRT. With Raypilot, we can improve accuracy when dealing with organ movement and thus reduce radiation exposure to healthy adjacent tissue. The Raypilot Hypocath also allows us to protect the urethra and control bladder filling with a single piece of equipment, which is unique. This leads to increased precision and reduced toxicity, ultimately improving the quality of life for this patient group.”
This is the company’s first order in the U.S. and an important step in its continued expansion into the large and important American market, according to the company’s management.
