Shorter Pathways.
Sustainable Capacity.
Prostate SBRT delivered in days instead of conventional multi-month schedules means fewer treatment sessions, more efficient linac utilisation, and shorter patient pathways. The Raypilot® System enables the real-time control that makes this transition possible in routine clinical practice.
Improved Linac Slots Capacity. What Would That Mean for Your Clinic?
Every prostate cancer patient treated with conventional radiotherapy occupies a linac slot for 20 to 39 sessions. Multiply that across a full year of patients and the impact on capacity is significant. Hypofractionated SBRT, using real-time motion tracking, reduces that to 1 to 5 sessions per patient. Yet, the transition requires confidence that shorter treatment delivers equivalent outcomes. With the Raypilot® System, that confidence now exists. Below is what the transition looks like in practice: investment, infrastructure needs, throughput, and timelines.
Adding Precision with The Raypilot® System vs. Starting from Scratch
| Add-on approach (Raypilot® System) | Dedicated system approach | |
|---|---|---|
| System investment | Add-on to existing linac | New standalone system |
| Infrastructure changes | None required | Dedicated suite, shielding, cooling |
| Installation time | 2 days | 6–12 months (incl. construction) |
| Clinical downtime | Zero | Room offline during build |
What Does Shorter Treatment Mean for Throughput and Waiting Lists?
Days instead of months means fewer sessions per patient, and more patients per linac per year. For a clinic treating 200 prostate patients per year on conventional fractionation, the transition to SBRT frees hundreds of linac slots. That capacity can be reallocated to other cancer types or used to reduce waiting lists.

From Delivery to First Patient: What a Typical Installation Looks Like
Designed as an add-on to existing linear accelerators, The Raypilot® System installs in just a few days with no need for new infrastructure, additional treatment rooms, or clinical downtime. From purchase order to first patient treated, our team supports every step, from hardware setup and calibration to staff training and the first clinical sessions.
Order and Delivery
The standard delivery timeline from purchase order is approximately 4–6 weeks. Your dedicated Micropos Medical contact will coordinate the schedule and prepare the installation plan. After installation, the system can be up and running within a few days.
Installation and Calibration
Receiver installation, software setup, and system calibration. No room closure or infrastructure changes are required.
Clinical Training
Hands-on training for the clinical team, including workflow integration, catheter handling, and phantom validation.
First Patients
Clinical start with on-site application support from the Micropos Medical specialist team throughout the first treatment sessions.
A Minimized Footprint for Every Patient Treated
The Raypilot® System operates with minimized energy consumption. Since SBRT reduces the number of treatment sessions from 20-30 to just a handful, every patient treated also means less energy consumed and fewer resources used across the treatment course.
Frequently Asked Questions
View all FAQs-
How many additional patients can be treated per linac per year?
If your hospital treats patients with 20 fractions it’s a fraction 4 if you choose to work with SBRT. If you treat 100 patients per linac per year today you will be able to treat 400 patients per linac per year if you treat with SBRT.
-
Is there clinical downtime during installation?
Installation of the Raypilot® System is completed over two half-day sessions.
-
What infrastructure changes are needed?
No infrastructure changes are needed, apart from en extra screen in the bunker and control room.
